Why does prep matter so much when a set lifts?

Lifting usually traces back to the prep rather than the gel. Oil and moisture left on the natural nail stop the product bonding, so check your prep before you change gel brands.

What is the difference between a dehydrator and a primer?

A dehydrator is brushed on first to clean the nail plate and take away surface oil and moisture. A primer goes on after and improves the grip between the nail and the product. They do different jobs, which is why the two are sold together as a duo.

Should I use an acid or an acid free primer?

The acid free Primer will not burn the skin or discolour the enhancement, which makes it the easy default for most clients and most systems. The Acid Primer Bonder is the stronger option for clients with persistent lifting. Apply a thin coat and avoid flooding the cuticle.

Is the acrylic liquid really HEMA free?

Yes. Attraction Sensitive is our original HEMA free monomer, made for our Attraction powders and any powder with a traditional medium set time. If you want low odour or a scent, we also stock Low Odour, Watermelon and Coffee HEMA free monomers as separate products.

What does the nail cleanser do?

It removes dust and the dispersion layer, the tacky film some gels leave after curing. It is worth having for wiping dust from the sidewalls after filing and before your top coat goes on, and it doubles as a slip solution with PolyGel in a tube.
