View full detailsSpider gel is a thick, stretchy nail art gel that pulls into fine, even threads, so you get perfectly straight lines, webs, geometric patterns and abstract wraps without a steady hand or a striping brush.
Both spider gels here are LED and UV curable and come in a choice of colours, with a Born Pretty option in a wider run of shades.
Stocked in Australia and shipped from the Gold Coast, with free shipping on orders over $150.
Spider gel is thick and stretchy rather than fluid. Dip a dotting tool or brush in, pull a strand out and lay it across the nail, and you get a perfectly even line every time. It does the thing a striping brush asks years of practice for: consistent width, no wobble and no reloading halfway across.
From there it is webs, geometric patterns, abstract wraps, gold wire effects and outlining on a French. It cures hard, holds its shape and sits flat enough that a single top coat levels it.
Work over a cured colour and seal under a top coat. For other line and detail work see liner gel and nail art brushes, or browse the full nail art range.
Spider gel is a thick nail art gel that stretches into fine threads, used for straight lines, webs, geometric patterns, wire effects and outlining. It gives an even line without a striping brush, which is why it suits anyone who finds freehand line work difficult.
Apply and cure your base colour first. Pick up a small amount on a dotting tool or a fine brush, touch it to the nail, then pull upward and across to draw the strand out. Lay the strand where you want it, cure, then seal under top coat. Work on one nail at a time, because the gel skins over if it sits too long.
Usually the gel is cold or you have picked up too much. Warm the pot in your hands for a minute and take a smaller amount. It also will not stretch on a tacky surface, so make sure the layer underneath is cured and wiped before you start.
Yes. The threads sit proud of the nail, so top coat is what levels the surface and stops them catching. Apply it in one confident stroke rather than brushing back and forth, which can drag the lines out of place.
Yes, it is a gel and cures in any LED or UV lamp. Cure the design before you top coat it, otherwise the top coat will smear the lines.
Yes, over a cured gel polish base. It is nail art rather than a structural product, so it goes on top of whatever system you are using, natural nail overlay, builder gel or acrylic alike.
